Translating academic insights into practical solutions — in IoT, agriculture, renewable energy and beyond.
Our research wing focuses on applied, field-deployable innovation. We don't research for papers alone — we research for people. Every project is designed to address a tangible need in agriculture, energy, water management or digital infrastructure.
Working in close collaboration with the technology division (Spoorthy Innovations Pvt Ltd at spoorthy.net), we bring together research rigour and engineering capability to build solutions that work in the field.
Our interdisciplinary research spans four key domains — each aligned with community needs and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Designing low-cost, robust IoT sensor networks for rural deployment — including smart water-level monitors, weather stations and livestock tracking systems.
Precision agriculture solutions — soil moisture analytics, automated drip irrigation controllers and crop health monitoring using drone imagery and ML.
Performance analytics for solar installations — real-time output monitoring, predictive maintenance algorithms and degradation analysis for off-grid and grid-tied systems.
Research into smart electricity and water metering — tamper detection, consumption pattern analysis and billing integration for municipal and utility applications.
One of our unique strengths is the direct pipeline from research to deployment. Prototypes developed by the Foundation's research wing are productised by Spoorthy Innovations Pvt Ltd — the technology arm of the group.
This means our research doesn't stay in a lab — it reaches farmers, utility operators and communities as finished, field-tested products.
